2006 Memorabilia of China Jewelry Industry

On March 17, the first jewelry design committee of Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China was founded in Beijing. Its goal is to solidify the professionals in jewelry design field, promote and innovate ethical jewelry culture, lead and create excellent design talents with innovative spirit and brilliant character and continuously develop the design level of jewelry industry.

On May 10, Shanghai International Jewelry Fair was held in Shanghai Neway International Exhibition Center. The jewelry fair was the only one that was held in Shanghai in 2006, and was also the biggest and top rank jewelry fair of Shanghai in history, which was the biggest great event ever held in east China.

The diamond import value added tax was decreased from July 1; from 17% to 4%. Its main purpose is to regular the import and export order of diamond and domestic diamond market, hit illegal diamond trade, push the healthy development of China jewelry industry. Jewelry industry gave high praise to the news.

On June 17, the release ceremony of “Shenzhen Jewelry” was held in Shenzhen East Lake International Center. “Shenzhen Jewelry” was born for jewelry industry; it’s the result of industry information research and market demand. It is an authorized, professional, practical and fashionable magazine of the whole nation’s jewelry industry, which will become an important platform and base to display Shenzhen jewelry industry.

Led by Shenzhen Gold Jewelry Association, Shenzhen Yinlian Jewelry Enterprise Guarantee Company founded by jewelry enterprises was established on August 28. The company created a cooperation bridge for jewelry enterprises and financial organization, paved enterprises financial green path, pushed private jewelry enterprise from fund operation to capital operation, which is a great event for private enterprise development.

On September 6, the National Quality Inspection Bureau held an honor convention in People’s Conference Hall; 13 jade jewelry brands were awarded “China Top Brand”. And five jewelry products were awarded “China Famous Brand” in 2006.

On September 14, the 2006 Shenzhen International Jewelry Fair was held in Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. The 6th Shenzhen International Jewelry Fair is a great invitation full of cooperative opportunities and a big klatch of domestic and foreign friends in jewelry industry. With over ten year’s accumulation and development, China International Jewelry Fair has become one of the best jewelry fair in China.

On December 8, Kingliving International Jewelry Trade center started to work. It became a new focus of Shuibei jewelry industry. And before this, Shenzhen Shuibei Jade Wholesale City had been on business. There are around 1500 jewelry enterprises in Shuibei area, including 15 “China Top Brand” enterprises and three “China Famous Brand” enterprises. Big market calls for big center and the base shows scale effect.
